Informed Citizenship Project
Semester-long project in which students create thematic blogs on ANY topic they'd like to learn more about and post articles/videos/stories/editorials about that topic. They keep a Rolling Knowledge Journal, documenting what they learn from each new source. They are also challenged to find academic and complex texts, noting lexiles and defining challenging vocabulary. Finally, they will write a synthesis essay using the sources provided in another student's blog. |

Blog and Digital Synthesis Project
For your blog project, you need to choose a topic that you care about and add videos, articles, images, stories, interviews, graphics, and/or your own commentary on that subject throughout the semester. The culminating activity will be a synthesis essay that incorporates some of the resources you have posted to your blog. Consider purpose and audience. Who would want to read/view/listen to your information and why? Scroll down to bottom right for STUDENT BLOGS. |
